Took FIVE times to get it right. But it looks like cat, and is small enough to fit on feet smaller than mine, even at sportweight (which I believe cashsoft 4ply really is, much heavier than a standard 4ply).

in the shadow of the easter bunny
Tail aside, I know it looks more like a rabbit than a cat, but trust me, illusion-wise (i.e. the right way around, looking at an angle to see the picture through the bumps and valleys of purls and knit-stitches) it's a cat.

Miaow.
Your masterful skills of illusion knitting are really tempting me to give it a go!
That is pretty cool!
so cool, I'm impressed
Love it. Absolutely love it. What a fantastic designer you are.
No, it does look like a cat. It's lovely.
Oh, that is just too cool! nice work!
squee!! I have a black cat and collect black cat stuff and feel that I must knit these socks! Are you making up the pattern? If so, you are my hero... I don't get illusion knitting at all. Could you maybe post it? I looked at the link for your illusion heart socks but didn't see anything patternish. Could it be that I'm running on 4 hours' sleep and four hours' teaching?
Nice pattern, it seems that you are a great professional sweety! thanks for this awesome post
I really appreciate it, I visit more often for updates, keep up the great work!
