I'm not a master sewer by any stretch. And I hate following instructions so am winging it a bit (I did do research first, promise). It's going to be pretty simple though, stripy. We'll see how it goes. Wish me luck

3-2-1-cut!
No, I'm not off to the seaside (tried that last week, it rained). I'm about to start my very first quilt.

Having seen your other stuff, I've complete faith in your winging it.
Love the fabric choices you made. I have absolute faith that you will produced a beautiful quilt. :) I've been trying to dip my toes into the quilting pool myself but keep dithering on color choices.
Looking the forward to seeing the beautiful quilt that I'm sure will ensue! Just one thing - after you hand stitched that lovely skirt, will you be using the sewing machine for quilting?
Love the footprints in the sand fabric :)
Are you going to hand piece or machine piece? I took a machine quilting class and everything suddenly clicked for me! I don't think I want to hand piece ever now that I know how to do it better and faster on a sewing machine.
Oooh, good luck, can't wait!
Just came across your blog through Knitty and I just love your work! I, too, have just attempted to start my first quilt after knitting for a decade. Looking forward to seeing the progress - it's not going too fast for me!
This cannot have effect in fact, that is what I believe.
