Ever increasing circles

I have turned into a spiral-producing machine. I'm not saying what these are for (it's that time of year...). Simply that they are driving me ever-so-slightly looney.

However, I have mastered the art of an adjustable-ring cast-on. In boucle yarn. On a number 52 bus. Which is an achievement at least. And I'm nearly finished. Maybe four more spirals to do, which equates to roughly two commutes back and forth to work. If I tell you my standard commute is up to 90 minutes each way, you'll see this is slo-oo-ow work.

The yarn is from the Tokyo branch of Avril (aka Habu). And I have no idea what its called or what its made of because I don't read Japanese and long-ago lost the ball band. I suspect a synthetic mix with a bit of wool thrown in. There is 250g of the bleeding stuff though.

Interesting stuff, and a good use for boucle yarn. I'm about to embark on a hexagon making spree, after being inspired by this...

That is one serious ball of yarn. I mean, No. Joke.

And the spirals look really cool, just as they are!

I hate boucle too - so very very snaggy.

awww just looking at that pile of circles makes me cringe at the thought of the project that calls for them. I hope whoever is receiving this gift appreciates your hard work and perseverance!

Those colors are lovely. And the fuzz of the boucle is pretty, even if it is hard to knit.

That adjustable base is great isn't it? I don't know why people do spirals in any other way.

yes, i must know what these are! coasters? or will you be sewing them together to make something bigger?

I'm stumped! I can't wait to see the finished product. 90 min each way? EEK! That would make a knitter out of anyone, I imagine!

Something about the mix of colours & textures in your spirals reminds me of the paisley droplets in the first Loop-d-Loop book. But will they too end up as a carpetbag? Anyway, they are lovely!

I love the spirals and can't wait to see them come together. I went to that Avril store when I was in Tokyo. It was heaven.
