best email ev-er

I just got an email from a lovely knitter called Sarah saying a blind friend of her's wanted to knit Rosalind but couldn't because the instructions are charted.

I'm ashamed to say I hadn't thought of that being an issue, but Sarah has written it out to share. It's also in my sidebar next to the pattern.

Thank you Sarah!

I'm not sure if I understand, because I am pretty tired and stupid today, but how can she "see" the written instructions, but not the charted ones?

Or am I missing some key element here?

Also emailed to Emms:

If its in a word doc the computer can read it to you, but the computer can't read photos (yet!) that's why all photos on wenbsites should have a title with descriptor of some sort

You can find loads on blind friendly websites here

On this, have you tried out the little disabled icon in blogger comments yet?

I know blind people knit, but I'm still amazed by it.

Hey Alice! Thanks for stopping by my blog recently. I'm glad to find yours - you knit and design lovely things. I'll be sure to visit again soon. :)
